The two symmetrical halves making up the Weinhold® flanged joint are plugged together in such way that they remain inherently stable in the direction of pull. Made of drop-forged material they withstand maximum strains; their application fields are pipings or flange-type fittings, where common flanges are obstructive due to their large diameters. The Weinhold® divided flange can be plugged together behind the annular collar after passing a pipe through an even narrow opening. This type of connection allows a realisation of the small-sized annular collar in a more valuable material than the flange itself. This may result in significant cost savings. Furthermore, risk of accidents during transport is reduced as there are no heavy or loose flanges on the pipes or fittings.
The contact pressure can be significantly cut by using O-rings between collar and flange or between two collars; no torque wrenches are required. O-rings for different media are available.
The hot-galvanised execution of the flange halves provides excellent protection against corrosion. |
