WE-ER® hydraulic hose fitting

Main characteristics - Mode of operation

Standard hydraulic hose clamps have one main disadvantage: the connection part (external thread with cutting ring cone or union nut with sealing cone) is located on the weakest part of the hose fitting, namely the hose nozzle. Especially high strains and bending stresses result in fractures or scratches just behind the hose clamp at the narrowest point of the nozzle, thus causing leakages.

Design of WE-ER® high-pressure hose clamps for hydraulic hoses of higher pressure ranges is different: The force flux resp. strain is shifted from the hose nozzle to the amply dimensioned collar incorporating the hose nozzle completely.

Mounting :

The hose nozzle, previously inserted into the hose, reposes in a floating position, after fitting assembly being completed (balance of axial forces). After radial compression of hose nozzle including hose into the collar, the actual connection part or adaptor is to be inserted into the collar. The sealing ring of the adapter being pushed over the nipple of the hose nozzle guarantees absolute leak-tightness. After complete tightening of the joint adaptor by use of glue (or without), the connection works.

Assembly mode and ample collar size result in a safe and leak-tight connection even for maximum strains in the hydraulic sector, as the force flux is taken by the collar, thus the hose nozzle only being subjected to the radial pressing forces.

A preliminary assembly in series is possible without determination of kind of connection of the adaptor. Also testing of leak-tightness on the whole hose line is easier: due to identical collars on the ends after compression, one test connector is sufficient.
