WE-ER® two-jaw band fitting
for steam hoses

Main characteristics - Mode of operation

WE-ER® two-jaw band fittings have been designed further to the chemical industry’s request for hose fittings – for safety reasons – being exclusively clamped in hose workshops.

Main parts of the WE-ER® two-jaw band fitting are: a hose nozzle resp. hose connection piece, two clamping jaws, a pressure absorption ring and a sleeve which is to be slid over the clamping jaws being previously pressed together.

This remarkable design offers two main advantages: First, no screw-drivers or wrenches are required; second, assembly can be carried out in no time by means of just one auxiliary tool. Neither screws nor nuts are necessary, thus eliminating assembly errors common to conventionally designed fittings. Contact pressure and constant pressure will always be correct during assembly, since the pressure absorption ring serves to centre the clamping jaws, and correct pressure depth is ensured after sliding the sleeve over them.

The standard execution provides hose nozzle or hose connection piece in galvanised steel, clamping jaws in brass, pressure absorption ring in stainless steel and sleeve in galvanised steel. Depending on the medium sealing rings are available in Perbunan, Viton or other adequate material. If other material is indispensable, please indicate exact material code no. to each component part in your order (special execution).

The design of WE-ER® two-jaw band fittings is based on DIN standard 2826 – Hose fittings with clamp holder for steam and hot water. In addition, a certain number of models have been modified according to requests of VCI (German Association of Chemical Industry) and their standards. The use of divided flanges under “Weinhold” brand as well as a very particular screw-type connection, the “Weinhold” union, with conical thread, cylindrical run-out and cylindrical gasket seat in conjunction with an elongated anti-kink sleeve provides further applications, where conventional connection types do not achieve requirements completely, especially with regard to safety.

Apart from deliveries to hose workshops for their hose clamping, we are of course prepared to supply pre-clamped hose assemblies according to the safety regulations of the German Social Insurance against Occupational Accidents in the Chemical Industry.

The clamping jaws have three different rings on a cone that – in conjunction with the sleeve – allow for hose diameter tolerances. If a faultless hose according to DIN standard 2825 is used, the sleeve is to be slid up to the last ring on the jaw; in case of non-standardized hoses having a slightly larger diameter, it is sufficient to slide the sleeve up the first or second ring on the jaw, thus ensuring a sufficiently strong clamping pressure.
