Pipe Couplings
WE-ER®
Pipe Coupling
The WE-ER® pipe coupling form A consists of 2 coupling parts plus clamp and sealing ring. Depending on execution, pipe coupling parts are either welded onto the pipes (or metal hoses) or screwed on, then fitted into one another for coupling and connected by laying the clamp around. The WE-ER® pipe coupling form B consists of 3 parts, a flange with sealing ring and a second flange with sealing ring and sliding sleeve. When coupling the flange parts are pushed to face each other and connected by means of the sliding socket and then laying the clamp around. Form B mainly is used, where an axial pipe removal - e.g. for lack of space - is impossible. Both construction types have an axial sealing providing absolute leak-tightness. The clamp holds the coupling parts together axially. By means of spring and tension lever the clamp can be mounted quickly and easily. Coupling parts and clamps are made of electro-zinc plated steel and thus well-protected against corrosion; on demand and depending on application, the pipe coupling parts are also available in stainless steel. The WE-ER® pipe coupling also may have different connections: welding ends, inside/outside threads or cone sockets. Choice of sealing ring material depends on fluid; e.g. perbunan or viton. The pipe coupling is available from size of DN 8. From a size of DN 200 our WE-ER® pipe coupling for large nominal widths can be supplied. The WE-ER® pipe coupling can be used in low and high pressure sectors. With the well thought-out design of the WE-ER® pipe coupling lots of advantages have been achieved: The coupling produces no cross-section area reduction in relation to the pipeline, thus avoiding flow losses. The solid design of the coupling is also adapted for heavy-duty operations. The easy and quick assembly and disassembly without use of additional tools may result in essential savings of labour cost.
WE-ER® Pipe Coupling for large nominal widths
The WE-ER® pipe coupling for large nominal widths is a further development of WE-ER® pipe coupling. It serves to connect pipes and hoses of nominal diameters from DN 200 and up to 120 bar. Possible application fields are to be found e.g. in steel mills, chemical plants, plant engineering companies and lignite surface mining. Alike the WE-ER® pipe coupling it is available in 2 construction types: form A and form B. Form A consists of two coupling parts plus drop-forged material clamp and sealing ring. Form B consists of one flange with sealing ring and a second flange with sealing ring and sliding sleeve as well as a drop-forged material clamp. The flanges have to be welded onto the pipe ends first. In case of form A they are to be pushed together and fixed by the clamp; in case of form B the flanges are to be pushed to face each other and fixed by pushing the sliding sleeve over and laying the clamp around. Assembly is easy, dast and user-friendly, which makes this pipe coupling particularly recommendable for a quick laying and connecting of pipelines. The use of a drop-forged material clamp makes the application at relatively high pressure strains possible, to which large nominal widths are often exposed to. Safety screws on the clamp prevent from unintentional opening. The spring only serves as mounting support. Standard executions of coupling parts and clamp are made of galvanised steel. Other material executions are available on demand. Depending on operating conditions (fluid, temperature, pressure) sealing rings made of perbunan or viton are used.
WE-ER®
High-pressure Pipe Coupling
The WE-ER® high-pressure pipe coupling form A welded onto face hydraulic or paste pipes provides rapid pipe connections without use of additional tools. The WE-ER® high-pressure pipe coupling consists of two flanges – one with sealing ring and sealing seat, the other with sealing seat on the inside. For assembly the flanges are to be slid into one another, a fitting bevel preventing the O-ring from being damaged. Then the WE-ER® pipe coupling clamp is to be laid around the ring collars of the flanges, thus combining them axially. By engaging the spring and shifting the tension lever, the connection is closed; due to the high pressures involved it is important to further insert a safety split pin into the extra-made boreholes. This protects against unintended opening of the connection by reversing the tension lever. From nominal widths of DN 60 a stainless steel safety screw is used. Sealing is performed by an O-ring made of perbunan, ensuring absolute leak-tightness of the connection, even in case of a slight bending. The pipe coupling clamp has no sealing function, but holds the parts together and takes up axial pressure. Due to the high pressures the clamp is made of drop-forged material with stainless steel screws. Mounting of the WE-ER® high-pressure pipe coupling performs very easily and quickly. The coupling is immediately reliably leak-tight and no retightening is required. A further advantage is that the clamp has no loose parts (except safety pin or screw), which may get lost underground. A clamp execution fixed to the coupling is also available. Both mounting and disassembly of WE-ER® high-pressure pipelines are extremely easy. Even after long operation periods a problem-free underground exploitation is ensured. Apart from pipelines a variety of fittings and adaptors in the respective nominal widths can be supplied. WE-ER® high-pressure pipelines are hot-dip galvanised and designed for pressures from 320 up to 500 bar. They can be supplied in nominal widths from DN 40 up to DN 150. Prior to delivery each single pipe and adapting piece undergoes a pressure test of 1.5 times of operation pressure. An alternative to the clamp-type WE-ER® high-pressure pipe coupling is the WE-ER® high-pressure screw-type pipe coupling.
WE-ER® High-pressure
Screw-type Pipe Coupling
The WE-ER® high-pressure screw-type pipe coupling provides rapid high-pressure pipe connections without use of additional tools. It consists of three major parts: sealing head with perbunan O-ring and union nut and external threaded piece with sealing seat on the inside. Two additional sealing rings protect the whole threaded area against environmental influences. For joining the pipes you push the sealing head into the threaded piece, following you screw the union nut on until the borehole for taking up the safety split pin is clear. For final protection against unintended unscrewing the safety split pin is to be inserted. Striking tools during assembly are redundant, due to the conical thread with cylindrical run-out of threaded piece and union nut. This permits an easy fastening and unscrewing of the connection by hand. Due to the absence of striking tools no noxious high-frequency noise emissions occur. A retightening after screwing the union nut on is redundant. When the split pin has been inserted, the correct position of the union nut is guaranteed; thus ensuring operating safety. Due to their conical shape the threads move apart both axially and radially during unscrewing. This permits easy detaching fo the connection even after long operating periods. Owing to the setting of the sealing ring inside the slide fit, a problem-free detaching of the union nut is provided even in a distorted and tense state. Grooves inside the sealing seat greased with lubricants prevent from rapid corrosion. Apart from pipelines a variety of fittings and adaptors in the respective nominal widths can be supplied. WE-ER® high-pressure pipelines are hot-dip galvanised and designed for pressures from 320 up to 500 bar. They can be supplied in nominal widths from DN 25 up to DN 150. Prior to delivery each single pipe and adapting piece undergoes a pressure test of 1.5 times of operation pressure. An alternative to the WE-ER® high-pressure screw-type pipe coupling is the clamp-type WE-ER® high-pressure pipe coupling.
WE-ER® High-Pressure Combination Coupling
A further development of the WE-ER High-Pressure Pipe Coupling, offering additional functions: The WE-ER® Piping System can be attached to, for example a wall, using an eye bolt fitted to the clamp. In addition, the clamp can remain attached to the coupling on the pipe during transport. This enables the pipe and clamp to be transported to the place of use together, preventing loss of the clamp. WE-ER®
Construction Material Pipe Coupling
The WE-ER® construction material pipe coupling has been particularly designed for quickly hardening fluids such as construction materials. Its design corresponds to that of the WE-ER® high-pressure pipe coupling consisting of two flanges and a drop-forged material clamp. But the WE-ER® construction material pipe coupling is designed in a way that the coupling flanges can roll apart when opening, instead of being pushed apart axially. That is why these couplings can be opened fast and easily even within pipeline systems firmly laid. This is an important advantage in case of the quickly hardening fluids used here. Thus the medium can flow out the pipeline before hardening, which enables a re-use of the pipes. The WE-ER® construction material pipe coupling is available for operating pressures from 160 up 250 bar. Pipes are hot-galvanised, pipe coupling parts zinc-plated and partially cold-galvanised. Apart from re-usability of the pipes and thus high profitability, the easy and quick assembly without use of additional tools contributes in a further economic advantage. There are further adapting pieces available that belong to the WE-ER® pipeline system for construction materials such as pipe bends, flow division branches, ball catchers, pressure reliefs, mixing nozzles, rinsing pieces and others. In order to provide their further perfect functioning all parts must be properly cleaned after use.
WE-ER®
Piping System
For piping various substances such as hydraulic fluid, pastes and construction materials. The WE-ER® Piping System consists of various components such as pipes, adapter pipes, pipe bends, branch pieces, plugs, taps, non-return valves, pig catchers and launching stations that are equipped with WE-ER® couplings. As a result, WE-ER® piping systems can be installed easily and quickly. It is not necessary to readjust the connections during operation, and they can be dismantled and reused without any problems, even after longer periods of operation. The system can be equipped with the WE-ER® Pipe Coupling, the WE-ER® High-Pressure Pipe Coupling, the WE-ER® High-Pressure Screw-Type Pipe Coupling or the WE-ER® Construction Material Coupling and is specifically dimensioned according to the project's operating conditions and the required operating pressures. The WE-ER® Piping System is designed for pressures ranging from 40 or 70 bar, up to 450 bar (580 or 1015 up to 6500 psi). It is also available in stainless steel and can therefore also be made to the requirements of, for example, the chemical industry. In addition, many other variants are possible. WE-ER® Pipe Coupling
with WE-ER® Safety Clamp
The WE-ER® Pipe Coupling with WE-ER® Safety Clamp represents a further development of the WE-ER® Pipe Coupling and offers additional security for the clamp, in addition to its basic utility. When closing this clamp, a side element of the clamp locks into a pin thereby relieving pressure on the clamp spring. This can be necessary if, for example, the surrounding conditions are corrosive for the spring. Many further variants are also possible. For more information, please feel free to contact us.
Weinhold® Flanged Joint
(Divided Flange)
The Weinhold® flanged joint consists of two symmetrical halves made of drop-forged material. A hot galvanisation guarantees an excellent protection against corrosion. For mounting the flange halves are to be plugged together and pushed towards the pipe collars. Then the flange halves and welding flange are to be bolted together, thus making up an inherently stable connection in axial direction. As assembly aid a stabilisation staple can be fitted, thus a sticking together of the flange halves by hand is superfluous during further assembly. The divided flange proves to be advantageous, when a pipeline has to pass narrow openings, which is possible due to their small annular collars unlike fixed flanges. After putting the pipe through, the divided flange is to be mounted. The use of O-rings between collar and flange respectively between two collars results in essential cuts of contact pressure, thus allowing an assembly without torque wrench. Essential cost savings are provided due to the use of divided flanges for instance in case of stainless steel pipes. Only the small annular collar of the welding flange has to be in stainless steel, the larger flanges are of cheaper drop-forged material. Also transport cost savings may be achieved: the smaller annular collars result in lower pipe dimensioning to gain higher packing density. Furthermore lower weight of the pipes without common large fixed flanges reduces the risk of accidents during transport and handling.
WE-ER®
Pipe-In-Pipe Coupling
For connecting coaxial pipes. The WE-ER® Pipe-In-Pipe Coupling is a further development of the WE-ER® Pipe Coupling and is used to connect coaxial pipes, which consist of two pipes running one inside the other. This system can be used where space is limited or in order to heat the internal pipe. Another advantage is that assembly and transport times are shorter than those of systems having two separate lines. The WE-ER® Pipe-In-Pipe Coupling can be supplied in various nominal diameters and in combination with elements such as pipes, adapter pipes, bends and branch pieces.
